A little bit of this, a little bit of that, and a whole lot of rambling in-between...

Trash TV
I just sat through an hour of "Bridalplasty" on E! and...I feel like there are at least 20 girls (or however many contestants are on the show) that I'm beating at life. Seriously...

The Week That Wouldn't End...
Maybe it's because I knew I was heading to Eugene straight after work on Friday. Maybe it was my body still trying to recover after the half-marathon I ran last Sunday. Maybe it was my insistence on still keeping my regular gym hours despite running 13 + miles in one day. I just know that this felt like the longest week ever and the weekend doesn't seem like nearly enough time to recover and start all over again on Monday.
I don't want this blog to seem like a depressing montage of my life, which I think it's been dangerously close to veering this past year, but I also don't want to lie. Am I happy to be working? Absolutely. Am I grateful to be working in such a fun office? You bet! Is it nice to go grocery shopping without debating whether or not I want to eat rice for an entire week or splurge on a t.v. dinner? Of course! But other than that, there isn't much else of note to report. My friends either live in Eugene or Southern California, neither of which is a short drive (though Eugene is ever slightly more reasonable). Most of my weekends are spent on my own. I go see movies by myself, which is fine every now and again, but not all the time.
(And yes, I have heard the, "if you want to make friends, just go out and do it," argument many times before, but really, that's easier said than done. I also want to be an instant millionaire, so I guess the only thing stopping me is that I'm too lazy to just "go out and do it?")
I keep hoping things are going to turn around. That my late 20s won't be just work-run-sleep-repeat. But I'm also realistic and not expecting any miracles...
To end things on a happy note...I'm home for the weekend to celebrate my mom's birthday. I had dinner tonight with the lovely Kiley and Amanda at Agate Alley in Eugene. It's funny how you don't realize how much you miss a place until you've been away for awhile (Eugene, not Agate Alley). Also, the mindless gossip...I think I've missed that the most.
Here's hoping this weekend recharges my batteries a little bit...I could definitely stand to shine a little brighter than the dim glow I've been operating at for the past week...

Mad Hatter
I'd really love to go to a wedding in England one day so I can wear one of those fabulous hats. Why hasn't the US stolen that trend yet? The Kentucky Derby doesn't count, those hats just aren't as classy...

Sickness in Reverse
Is it possible for a virus to work in reverse? I've been sick with a cold since Thursday night, and instead of getting better, each day has just been progressively worse. I ran 10 miles on Sunday because I thought I was starting to get better, but I think that may have just made it worse.
I just wanna wake up tomorrow morning feeling better, not worse...
